Hi, I’m Makayla,

Makayla May is a highly dedicated mental health counselor specializing in working with children at Monarch Behavioral Health. Holding a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from esteemed universities, Makayla combines academic excellence with practical expertise.

Her commitment to supporting children’s mental health led her to pursue specialized training in play therapy, providing her with a unique and effective approach to connect with and aid children. Makayla has garnered extensive experience in diverse settings, including schools, community centers, and private practice, consistently applying evidence-based practices to assist children and their families in navigating mental health challenges.

In her therapeutic endeavors, Makayla focuses on children dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral issues. Employing a compassionate approach, she guides her young clients towards healing and growth, emphasizing the importance of building strong relationships. Makayla values open communication, collaborating closely with children and their families to achieve mutually defined goals.
